JUDITH ONIONS MILK JUG - UNUSUALLY WITH THE GREEN SHIELD BACKSTAMP Please note the white banding is very white on the jug, not the slight creamy tinge of the pictures. Green Shield Backstamp, but this is most definitely a Judith Onions design, so likely to be an earlier one. Approx height 5 7/8” (14.9 cm) with a base diameter of 4” (10.3 cm) and a top diameter of 5 7/8” (14.9 cm) including the spout. NO CHIPS, CRACKS OR CRAZING. Excellent lettering. Light surface scratching. Top lip very clean. Inner measures very clear. Banding super. Base has light dirt in the unglazed foot rim. An excellent example with the added unusual backstamp. | PINT "MILK" JUG Green Shield Backstamp, impressed #29 and #17. Approx. height 4 13/16” (12.3 cm). Base diameter 3 3/16” (8.2 cm) and top diameter 4 3/8” (11.2 cm). NO CHIPS, CRACKS OR CRAZING. Light surface scratching, mainly in the bottom blue band. Very clean piece. Hint of white shadow in the bottom blue band, below the handle, from manufacture. On the very bottom edge of the lowest blue band there is a very slight darker spot in the blue. This is a very good example of this item. 436g unpacked. REF NO: CWS2934. MINI CREAMER WITH EARLY GRESLEY POTTERIES GREEN SHIELD BACKSTAMP Early Green Shield Backstamp and impressed #43. 2.25” (5.7 cm) high with a base diameter of 2 11/16” (6.8 cm). Small chip in foot rim of the base. Top rim has some fine fleas/incomplete glaze on it. To the lip is one small spot that looks more like a flea with a very short fracture from it. Glaze quality is typical of the earliest pieces. Bottom blue band has a white line associated with a line of slip. There is a smudge of blue in the upper white band and inside the bottom of the jug. Minimal craze lines. Inside the bottom in the jug is a firing line at the joint with the side. Handle exceptionally clean. 126g unpacked. REF NO: CWS2271. | SMALL FRIDGE JUG WITH LID Green Shield Backstamp, impressed #26 and partially impressed O. Approx. height 5 13/16” (14.7 cm) including lid. Base diameter 3 3/8” (8.6 cm) and lid diameter 3.5” (8.8 cm). NO CHIPS, CRACKS OR CRAZING. There is a tiny blip on the bottom edge of the lid that could be a slight error with the manufacture or a tiny flea. I can’t decide so assume the latter. Banding, lip and handle all superb. Base has the most minimal dirt in the unglazed foot rim. Underside of lid is the same. Light surface scratching. Top of lid does have some dust speck in the glaze, but banding is again excellent.
