EARLY PINT MUG WITH ANGLED HANDLE
Green & Co Ltd, Gresley, England, Church Backstamp and impressed #18. 4 5/8” (10.8 cm) high, 4 5/8” (10.9 cm) top diameter. NOCHIPS, CRACKS OR CRAZING. Average surface scratching for a piece of it's age that has been used. On the top edge are some grey lines that appear to be in the glaze. Base very clean. Slip quality average with a few slip bumps and firing bubbles typical of the earlier pieces. At the base of the bottom blue band there is some marginal variation in the blue/discolouration. Where the handle joins the mug body there are rough pieces of slip and it hasn’t fully sealed – it has not been reattached. EARLY PINT MUG WITH ROUND HANDLE
Green Shield Backstamp. 4” (10.2 cm) high, 3 15/16” (10 cm) top diameter. Light surface scratching. Small firing pop on the inner edge of the top rim. This has a firing fissure associated with it on the top edge. Bottom blue band has slightly uneven blue colouring and there is a white spot within the band. There is also a slight unevenness to the bottom blue edge that has resulted in there being a small white mark in the bottom blue band also. Base clean with light dirt and some small indents in the unglazed foot rim from manufacture. Inside the base there are some utensil marks in the glaze from spoon use – these are not discoloured. HALF PINT MUG WITH ANGLED HANDLE
Green & Co Ltd, Gresley, England, Church Backstamp and impressed #30. 3 1/2” (9 cm) high, 3 3/8” (8.6 cm) top diameter. NOCHIPS, CRACKS OR CRAZING. Average surface scratching for a piece of it's age that has been used. Top rim clean and smooth. Base clean with minimal dirt in the unglazed foot rim. Roughness to the slip of the handle and an uneven finish. Slight fault on one of the band cuts with some blue going into the top white band. Brown line in the slip at the top edge of the top white band. Nice display piece with it being the smaller size and angled handle that you see less often. 306g unpacked. REF NO: CWS1405. HALF PINT MUG WITH ROUND HANDLE - CLEARANCE
Green Shield Backstamp and impressed #21. 3 1/8” (7.9 cm) high, 3 3/16” (8 cm) top diameter. NO CHIPS OR CRAZING. Light surface scratching. To the top point of attachment of the handle there is a stress fracture. Base and top edge very clean, just a slight under glaze indent on the outer edge.. RARE JUDITH ONIONS CONICAL MUG
Target Backstamp and impressed #57. Approx. height 3 7/8” (9.9 cm), top diameter 3 1/8” (7.9 cm), base diameter 2.25” (5.6 cm). This is not a common item to find. NO CHIPS CRACKS OR CRAZING. The glaze has been too thin on the edge of the handle and there is discolouration associated with this. Inside the base of the mug are utensil marks in the glaze that have become browned. To the top rim there is some light browning. To the unglazed foot rim of the base there is some dirt. Average surface scratching. 220g unpacked. REF NO: CWS2121. CONICAL MUG - ONE OF MANY AVAILABLE
Green Shield Backstamp and impressed #5. Approx. height 4 1/16” (10.3 cm), top diameter 3 3/16” (8 cm), base diameter 2 5/16” (5.7 cm). NO CHIPS CRACKS OR CRAZING. Small indent in the unglazed foot rim of the base that looks like it’s been there since manufacture but could be later. Very clean top rim and inside. Base has minimal dirt in the unglazed foot rim. Finish on the handle slightly rough at the point that it joins the mug at the top. Very light surface scratching. Lovely clean example. 220g unpacked. REF NO: CWS037. MILK HORN - CLEARANCE
Green Shield Backstamp. Approx. 4” (10.2 cm) high with a top diameter of 2.25” (5.8 cm) and base diameter of 3 1/8” (8 cm). Two small fleas, and one slightly larger to the top rim, together with some light brown specks. Average surface scratching. Right at the bottom edge of the lower blue band there is some light discolouration. To the base there is some light browning in the unglazed foot rim. Gold Mason Cash Round Church Backstamp. Approx. 3 7/8” (9.8 cm) high with a top diameter of 3 15/16” (10 cm). NO CHIPS, CRACKS OR CRAZING. Very light surface scratching. Excellent condition. The very bottom edge of the lower blue band is slightly uneven. The gold foil used for the decal and lettering was highly problematic to use and may not be used again without an improved method of application being available.
