EARLY COVERED DISH - Round Gresley Church Mark. Earlier version of the covered dish with the drop in knop. Maximum base diameter 9.3” (23.5cm). Lid top is totally free of crazing, very short craze lines on the underside by the lid rest rim. Some very light, small, brown specks within the white on the top and bottom. These don’t detract in any way. Base has long line crazing to the inside of the bowl and to about 25% of the outside. This is not discoloured. In the outer blue band there are two pinhead firing bubbles where the blue is very slightly lighter. There is also a tiny flea or glaze fault near to the edge. Very clean and bright piece with few surface scratches. Much less common than the version with the non-recessed, rounded knop. Unpacked weight: 885g. REF NO: CWS1615. Price: 70.00GBP
