MINT Spice Jar. 3 7/16” (8.7cm). Gresley Church Mark. NO CRAZING. NO CHIPS. There is a firing fissure on the inside of top of the back rim with an associated fine line that appears to be an associated stress line over the top edge and onto the outer section – see pictures available. With this fault there is a fractional flattening of the rim edge and marginal indent on the inner rim. There is a second fissure that is barely visible and a tiny black spot on the top edge. This is a highly detailed description as usual – it is small! Nice clear lettering with minimal ink specks associated – and they are tiny. Light surface scratching. In the neck on the RHS is a glaze bump that is apparent as a tiny white line. On LHS in upper white band is a tiny slip indent. Right at the bottom edge of the lower blue band there is a fractional variation in the blue colour. Base clean with minimal dirt specks in the outer foot rim and a minor small overglaze skip. Lid excellent fit – pin head firing pop in the central blue band under the knop and white speck in the outer blue circle. To the underside there is a minimal light brown specks in the unglazed lid rest rim. Nice piece for display. 222g unpacked. REF NO: CWS1659. Price: 125.00GBP. This item is currently in our cabinet at the Henley Street Antiques Centre, Stratford Upon Avon, opposite Shakespeare’s Birthplace.
