MINI CREAMER WITH RARER EARLY GREEN SHIELD BACKSTAMP
Early Green Shield Backstamp and impressed #43. 2.25” (5.7 cm) high with a base diameter of 2 11/16” (6.8 cm). Small chip in foot rim of the base. Top rim has some fine fleas/incomplete glaze on it. To the lip is one small spot that looks more like a flea with a very short fracture from it. Glaze quality is typical of the earliest pieces. Bottom blue band has a white line associated with a line of slip. There is a smudge of blue in the upper white band and inside the bottom of the jug. Minimal craze lines. Inside the bottom in the jug is a firing line at the joint with the side. Handle exceptionally clean. 126g unpacked. REF NO: CWS2271. Price: 35.00GBP Click on picture to view gallery

RARE SQUARE BOX -

Green Shield Backstamp. Lid (widest) approx 5 7/16” (13.9cm) by 5.5” (13.8”). No chips or cracks. Crazing to the inside of the box and on its base. On one side there are about four long craze lines in the middle white band. Top of the lid has average surface scratching. The blue colour is even and the edging good. The lid underside is very clean with a tiny firing fissure in a corner of the lid rest rim, and the expected stilt marks from firing. The base section has a very clean top edge and base. Two sides are very fractionally curved in, but this is normal to see. Bottom blue band shows slight overglaze run, so there is a darker blue edge mark to this in the slip. Again this is often seen and may be a result of the flat surface. On the top edge there is a very slight area where there is a slight thinning of the blue so the white shows through. Very nice example of a rare piece. Unpacked weight 965g. REF NO: CWS1761. Price: 315.00 GBP including UK postage. .Click on picture to view gallery.
RARE 1980'S DOUBLE EGG CUP
3 5/16” (8.4 cm). No backstamp inside. No chips, cracks or crazing. Very few surface scratches. Both edges to the ends very clean with only a hint of unevenness in the slip of the large end, and a small, very slightly darker, spot. A couple of blue glaze specks in the main white band of the wide side. These were produced in a one off run for a US Homewares/Ironmongers store, and didn’t sell well. Hence the one off run! Unpacked weight 160g. REF NO: CWS450. Price: 65.00GBP including UK postage. Click on picture to view gallery

BISCUIT BARREL -

Black Shield mark. Approx. 4 7/8” (12.3 cm) high including lid with a base diameter of 4 5/8” (11.8 cm). Barrel is crazed and there is some light discolouration to the inside of the base. Lettering good with very few ink associated ink specks. Slight rub on the handle on the LHS as you look at it so it feels rough. Banding good. Small run in the glaze of the bottom blue band on the left front. Slip rub in the middle blue band at the back. A few slip bumps, firing bubbles and small white specks in the blue at the back mainly. Base very clean. Top rim has minimal very light specks to the inner rim that are not easy to spot. Lid fit very good. Slight unevenness to the blue on the outer edge of the lid and some surface scratching. Under the lid there is a light brown discolouration spot and four chips to the inner lid rest rim. To the outside edge there is a rub with associated mark within the glaze. Handle is very brittle and one loop is virtually detached – it is the original shape. A chance of a bargain for those that wouldn’t be buying this rarer item at its usual perfect price. Unpacked weight 805g. REF NO: CWS2757. Price: 155.00 GBP including UK postage. Top band edge not so clean at one point. Some variation within the blue glaze colouring. Two rubs and a white spot in the bottom blue band. Faults are mostly from manufacture. The dark mark on the picture of the base is not there on the piece. Lid fit excellent and the slip quality is good. Small indent on the edge of the knop from manufacture.
