There are four main styles for the named shakers. Earliest are the ones that are generally referred to as "Fixed Top". These all seem to come with SERIF lettering, have the Black Shield Backstamp and a Bakelite & Cork stopper to the base that is often missing. There are only a few examples of "FLOUR" appearing on the "SUGAR" shape and this is pictured in the selection. As yet I haven't seen SALT in this format. Next came the "SCREW TOP" style which have Green Shield Backstamps. Appearing in both SERIF and SANS SERIF, Sugar, Flour, Salt, Pepper is the order of rarity it seems. The shakers were redesigned by Judith Onions in the 1967 redesign of the whole range. All four carry the SANS SERIF typeface, although both a wider and narrower font style are known. These have the target backstamp associated with Judith Onions' designs. The final named range is for SALT and PEPPER only and is the "chunkier" one piece of the 70's/80's. All have the SANS SERIF font and usually carry a "Made in England" backstamp inside.

The picture shows the range of bottle shapes that were produced. The most common thing that is overlooked is the fact that the vinegar bottle comes in two sizes in its standard form. So far....all the older ones seem to be in the SANS SERIF style with the Green Shield backstamp. The later Collectors Club bottles were SERIF with the Blue Shield mark.
