Cornishware talk! June 2007
Selection of Items appearing on eBay this weekend. We continue to keep up with what we can given family and work demands. Stratford is regularly restocked with items that don;t get to appear on here, so if you are passing by do drop in. As usual we continue to supply preorders as we find them, and answer queries. A sneak preview on one item shortly to appear on eBay.....

November 2006
24th November 2006: A large number of items have been sold and are pending sale. We have removed a significant number of these from the site and will highlight more over the next week. We are currently adding some more items too so watch for changes too. We are changing stock available in Stratford in the run up to Christmas so visitors will get a chance to see some different pieces. This may mean a delay in checking availablity of stock there as I can only get in a maximum of twice a week.
Last posting dates for Overseas Delivery by Christmas are rapidly appraoching! These are as follows:
Another jar that was sourced and didn't appear on the site for sale.
3rd November 2006: We have been busy listing some bits on eBay. There is a large selection being listed over the next three weeks. You can view our current auctions under our selling ID of cornishwaresearch. Quite a few pieces have gone/are pending this month and we have started to mark them up as sold. There are pieces ready and waiting to upload too.
Christmas is approaching so for overseas buyers it's time to start thinking about things as the final dates for posting are only a few weeks away. October 2006
21st October 2006: Half term! With 3 new courses to teach it's been a frantic time at work. Problems have arisen again with regard to e-mails. If you haven't got good antivirus protection and frequently check for spyware please do it! Our e-mail address has been scanned from someones address book (we don't leave messages on guest books so it's not that, and our antivirus and other seccurity measures all showed the computer was clean here). This has led to spammers using it as a return address, and we get bombarded with the e-mails that the firewalls have blocked. Fortunately we have managed to set up a diversion for all but specifically named e-mails and that has reduced to almost nothing the bouncebacks we now get. You may find that if you send us a mail from work we may get our reply blocked. What we will do now is put a message on here for you. This should now be a rare occurrance instead of standard as it has been for a bit.
On the Cornish Ware front things have been busy. We were able to supply a rarity on one persons request list that hasn't been seen before: A great RED AND WHITE "MILK" Jug. Other items that are currently being offered off site include Treacle, Mixed Fruit, Dried Parsley, and a large Lard. These may become available in the future, if not I'll put pictures on the site so collectors can view them.
The centre continues to expand in the range of articles that are sold from the room. We now have a good selection of T G Green, Carn, Midwinter, Portmeirion, Denby, Studio Pottery including Bitossi, Isle of Wight, Celtic Pottery, Winchcombe, Poole, Bob Dawe and Louis Hudson. There is an army of Smurfs arriving this week too! 13th August 2006: I have the kids all this week so won't be making as many updates. Navy Coffee Pot is reserved pending sale, and Sans Serif Pepper Shaker is now sold. Good pieces that are currently reserved pending a previous request include the following two items. Should they not be required they will then go onto the main site. Registering your requirements always puts you at the front of the queue!
7th August 2006:Pictures and link pages added for three new items on the Gold page, two with green shield backstamps. Descriptions to follow.
6th August 2006 (later...)Two rare 1970's Navy pieces have been added to the other colours page, a coffee pot and storage jar. Also the Cornish Tea and Coffee Pot page now contains all colours so you can compare. There will be specialist pages for each colourway too, with Yellow and Gold already online. Milk Jug description now added.
6th August 2006: Expect changes and additions all this week. Yesterday descriptions for the two sloped JO fruit bowls were added (we have another to add now too), and a Streamline Cherries Spice Jar. Today pictures for an excellent Pint "MILK" Jug have been added, description to follow. Plenty more to come, including some nice rare bits.
YVONNE - have sent you another e-mail through - check your filtered messages folder if it hasn't arrived at your end!
July 2006
28th July 2006: Back doing some updating after a frantic term at school and some more e-mail problems. Should you receive any spam mail that is linked to our address please let us know as one of those automatic robots has managed to use our mail to hide the address of the real source of some spam mailings.
27th March 2006: Starch details added to storage jar page. Congratulations to Reading FC on getting to The Premiership! It was a great day out and I shall indulge in a picture!
23rd March 2006: Advanced notice, while I can, of downtime when the website will not be available due to site changes by the host. Monday, March 27, Approx. 120 minutes starting at 10:00 PM PST Tuesday, March 28, Approx. 90 minutes starting at 10:00 PM PST Wednesday, March 29, Approx. 90 minutes starting at 10:00 PM PST. This shouldn't be too much of a problem to UK visitors as it's during our night.
22nd March 2006: The last month has seen both my lads struggling with illness. Our eldest has, in particular, had problems with both asthma and tonsillitis. The web hosts have also entered into a beta phase for testing of "behind the scenes" layout and features that we are trialling before it all goes live shortly. If you are passing Stratford you will see from next week a new cabinet full of studio pottery that will be up and running next Tuesday. We are completing all the ticketing for these items at the moment. I'll update some of the sold items now (luckily most are non-web listed thankfully!).
Saturday sees a possible milestone in the history of the football club I have followed for over 30 years. Watch for the result of Leicester City v Reading, I hope to be watching the moment that Reading make it to the top flight of English football for the first time ever since their formation in 1871! February 2006
24th February 2006: Just about emerging from a never ending supply of flu medications, throat lozenges, and cough medicines. Watch for updates through the day, I'll summerise on here later on.
21st February 2006: Those that have spoken to me over the last few days will know I am suffering a bit at the moment with the darn cold/cough/sore throat etc that is doing the rounds in The Midalnds, hence the lack of recent updates. I also took in a pallet of stock from TG Green yesterday that needed sorting. This included many discontinued specials and items, as well as current specials. I've now added an example of each shaker in the sans serif style. We have serif available too, but you'll have to wait a bit for those! (Do ask if you want details). It seems to work fine - let me know if it's not at your end please.
31st December: Four more pieces added to Domino page, complete with link pages.
30th December: Hope you've all had a good Christmas. Managed to spend a day taking some pictures and labelling up some Blue Domino as the BBC Homes and Antiques feature was published on the 27th. There are quite a few additions to the Domino Page, with many more to come. We have also increased our Domino stock in Stratford, as well as adding more Cornish Ware and Midwinter following the pre-Christmas sales. There will shortly be a re-vamp of the General stock page as we have also photographed a significant number of items for this already and are currently working on descriptions and writing the link pages. Keep watching for updates - there should also be some more clearance items shortly too. Here's to 2006!
19th December: Congratulations to our school band Nizlopi! UK #1. It is available to download for overseas visitors (they count in the sales too via your favourite download site). If you want to listen as you haven't heard it yet go to www.jcbsong.co.uk where you can view the video too.
12th September: Great to have met so many of you at the T G Green open day in Swadlincote on Saturday. Many thanks for your kind words about the website and quality of the stock. If you were thinking about the handled vinegar or wooden salt box they have gone now. Today has seen the introduction of a clearance page that is highlighted in red on the menu. As with all new pictures added there is a gallery for each item. There will continue to be some clearance items that are only available through the Antiques Centre. We will also continue to add more items to each page as we get time. It usually takes me a couple of weeks to get back into the routine after the school holidays! If there is anything you are looking for that is not listed, do check with us as we have hundreds of items available.
We have been busy adding to our own collection and the picture above shows a selection of some of the colours that can be found in our kitchen. That's right, you are seeing correctly, that is a green jar with an early church backstamp. It is exactly similar in style to the orange ones of that period of which at least two are known of.
HENLEY STREET ANTIQUES CENTRE, HENLEY STREET, STRATFORD UPON AVON, WARWICKSHIRE. We have expanded our outlet at Stratford and you can now find a wide selection of Cornish Ware and other TG Green designs. In addition to this there is also a wide range of Portmeirion, Carn Pottery, Denby, Midwinter and Studio Pottery as a result of teaming up with another keen TG Green collector and dealer, Chris Marks. There will also be a new website that links to this to market the full range of merchandise. There will always be special items and offers that only appear in the room for those who have visited. LIMITED EDITION BOILED EGG

Priced are as follows (including postage):
UK: 35.00 GBP Europe: 37.50 GBP US & Canada: 38.50 GBP NZ & Australia: 39.50 GBP
Requesting specific items:
Please remember to request specific items. Below are jars that were sourced for a customer and never appeared on the site.
Now sold but enjoy the picture still! Washing Soda.
Just to clarify why we don't believe in shopping carts and check out on the internet. We like to get to know you and personal communication and negotiation are by far a more pleasant experience than an order e-mail arriving! This is also why we don't use the check out system if we sell anything on eBay.
Of this selection only the Parsley remains! The picture stays on for you to enjoy!
Taking in the sunshine in the garden! Just to prove to some of our overseas collectors that the weather has been super here! For Australians especially - the garden is based on the Chelsea Garden that the Australian Wine Producers used to promote their fine wares!
As very fussy cornish ware collectors ourselves, we know what people look for in a piece. We continue to strive to offer the largest selection of Cornish Ware and other TG Green designs from a specialist outlet. We will not compromise quality though, and if that means that something is not available or not sourced, so be it. You know that items purchased from us will be of top quality.
You are never charged for packing and your items are sent with polychips and plenty of bubblewrap. All packing materials are recycled as much as possible and we source recycled polychips ourselves.
Have fun collecting your Cornish Ware and other patterns.
